There’s nothing in the world like Calle Ocho.
Once a year, Little Havana explodes with sound, flavor, and color. From the rhythms of salsa and reggaeton to the scent of grilled arepas and Cuban sandwiches floating through the streets, this isn’t just a festival—it’s a celebration of everything that makes Miami alive.
And for the last 15 years, 786-Bartend students have been part of it.
Since our very first year in 2010, we’ve staffed Calle Ocho with aspiring bartenders ready to step out of the classroom and into the real world. And when we say real, we mean it. Calle Ocho isn’t play—it’s full-speed service, high-volume everything, and a crowd that doesn’t stop moving.
In 2025, the event had a major change: liquor sales were off the table. But beer? That didn’t slow down one bit.
With crowds packed 20 deep, our students helped serve thousands of cold beers across multiple tents. In some years, we’ve moved over 5,000 units from just a single bar—and while this year had new rules, the energy and scale were still full throttle.
They managed ice rotations, replenished inventory on the fly, and kept pace with the kind of demand that teaches speed, efficiency, and professionalism in real time. No frills, no shortcuts—just nonstop service, music in the background, and that Calle Ocho pulse pushing everything forward.
At 786-Bartend, we don’t teach in a classroom—we train students inside an actual working bar. They already know what it feels like to set up, stock, serve, and close down in a real environment. But Calle Ocho takes it to the next level.
Working an event like this builds skills that go beyond the bar. It teaches:
Students left the event tired—but confident. They earned that feeling.
Calle Ocho is personal to us. Our school is built in the heart of Miami. Many of our students grew up coming to this festival. So when they get the chance to work it—not just attend it—it means something.
And for many, this is their first time being part of something this big:
To be able to say you worked Calle Ocho is something to be proud of.
Events like this aren’t one-offs. They’re part of our full-circle training.
At 786-Bartend, students gain experience not just from lectures, certifications or mixology workshops, but through real opportunities like:
Our mission has always been the same: train bartenders the right way—and get them in front of real opportunities that matter.
Calle Ocho isn’t for the unprepared. But if you’re ready to learn, train, and show up for real moments like this, we’ve got you.
