They Took the Course. Then They Got Paid.

At 786-BARTEND, students learn the craft in a real bar environment. After training, they gain access to paid events, cocktail education workshops, bar jobs, private parties, and professional hospitality experiences across South Florida through our hiring platform and ongoing support network.

This is where training starts turning into real-world confidence.

Where Our Students and Graduates Have Worked

For 17 years, staffing events has been part of what we do at 786-BARTEND, giving our students and graduates opportunities to earn money and gain experience beyond their training. Our work ranges from one or two bartenders at a private party to teams of two to five at corporate events. We have also staffed more than 75 bartenders for a single music festival at Bayfront Park in Miami.

There are hundreds of examples we could share. Throughout the year, our students and graduates work our events and find opportunities through our hiring platform, including weddings and holiday celebrations. The events and student stories below are a small selection of the work and connections we have helped make possible over the years.

What Happens After Bartending School?

One of the biggest questions new bartending students ask is a simple one: what happens after I finish the course?

At 786-BARTEND, the goal has never been to simply graduate students and send them on their way. The mission is to help new bartenders build confidence, gain real experience, and step into paid opportunities whenever possible.

Through hands-on training, local industry relationships, paid events, cocktail education workshops, and our dedicated hiring platform at Hire.786Bartend.com, many students and graduates have been able to work real events, connect with employers, and begin building their bartending careers in Miami and across South Florida.

From Training to Real Paid Experience

One of the biggest challenges new bartenders face is getting that first opportunity.

Many bars want experience before they hire. Many event companies want confidence. Many private clients want someone who already knows how to set up, serve guests, stay organized, and work professionally. That is exactly why real-world exposure matters so much.

786-BARTEND students and graduates have worked events across Miami, Miami Beach, Aventura, Brickell, Hollywood, Homestead, Boca Raton, and other areas of South Florida. These opportunities give students more than just a paycheck. They give them confidence, photos for their resume, networking opportunities, and a better understanding of what professional bartending really feels like.

Each event means working with real guests, real timing and real expectations, and getting paid for it.

Students Working Cocktail Education Events in Miami Beach and Aventura

Some of the strongest experiences for our students have come through our own cocktail education workshops and corporate events at major South Florida venues. These are events where students show up, work alongside instructors, assist guests, and walk away with real hospitality experience on their record.

The Goodtime Hotel, Miami Beach

In Miami Beach, students helped support a cocktail education workshop for approximately 65 guests at The Goodtime Hotel. The event gave students the chance to assist with setup, guest service, cocktail preparation, and live event hospitality in a fully professional setting.

Working at a venue like The Goodtime Hotel means operating in a real hospitality environment with real guest expectations. For students who had recently completed their training, this was a meaningful first step into the industry.

JW Marriott, Aventura

At the JW Marriott in Aventura, students worked a corporate cocktail education event for a large group of more than 50 guests. Events like this help students learn how to move with purpose, support instructors, interact with guests, and understand the timing of a larger hospitality experience.

Working in a corporate event setting at a property like the JW Marriott also teaches students what professional bar standards look and feel like at the highest level.

South Beach Conventions and Calle Ocho

Students have also assisted with events connected to international conventions in South Beach, including professional groups visiting Miami for major gatherings. These are high-expectation environments where presentation, speed, and guest interaction all matter.

786-BARTEND has staffed bartenders at Calle Ocho, one of Miami’s largest and most energetic annual festivals, for the past 17 years. High-volume festival service is a completely different skill set from a private party or corporate event, and it gives bartenders the chance to put their training to work at a pace few events can match.

Trick Daddy Event Near Midtown Miami

More recently, 786-BARTEND staffed a team of 16 bartenders for a Trick Daddy event near Midtown Miami.

Putting a team that size behind the bar takes planning, coordination, and bartenders who show up ready to work. Events like this are part of the staffing work that helps connect our students and graduates with real event experience.
